Shop Fronts
Most shop front windows use laminate glass, which conforms to BS 6206 Class B (for 6.4mm thickness and up; 4.4mm is rarely used, and conforms to BS 6206 Class C). Laminate glass is essentially two pieces of float glass bonded together by a PVU interlayer. The primary purpose of this glass is to maintain security and integrity upon impact, by distributing the force of the impact across the glass surface, while the PVU interlayer holds the glass panes together, creating a distinctive “spider-web” appearance.
Laminate glass can usually be replaced on the same day, as our engineers usually carry this glass on their vans. However, large and/or thicker than normal panes will usually be a next day service, dependant on glass dimensions.

Express Leyland glaziers replace glass for a variety of reasons. we provide an emergency response service for broken glass repairs where we would board the windows for your security and then replace the glass usually within 48 hours in and around the Leyland area.

Glass for use in Leyland domestic properties typically comes in two varieties; single or double-glazed, with a choice of either float/annealed or toughened glass. Single-glazed windows with float glass can normally be fitted on the same day. Our Leyland glaziers are able to replace glass from either the outside or the inside of properties, if the framework allows it. If required, we can source scaffolding and/or lifting vehicles for high glass installations.
